Your complete guide to
daily nutrition
Understand the science behind every ingredient โ and find the perfect gummy for your wellness goals.
What is an NRV?
In the UK and Europe, NRV (Nutrient Reference Value) is the standard guide for daily vitamin and mineral intake. Here’s what it really means for you.
You may have seen NRV (Nutrient Reference Value) on supplement labels and wondered what it means. It replaced the older term RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) in December 2014 under European food regulations โ the name changed, but the values stayed exactly the same.
Think of NRVs as the minimum daily baseline needed to avoid deficiency and maintain basic health โ not the ceiling for peak wellness. For example, the NRV for Vitamin C was originally set as the minimum needed to prevent scurvy, not to optimise your immune system.
Modern lifestyles, stress, age, seasons, and individual health goals often mean your body can benefit from more than the minimum. At Gummy Wellness, we curate brands that balance safety with efficacy, so you can thrive โ not just survive.
On every product page and label, you’ll find the NRV percentage per serving so you always know exactly what you’re getting.
What the % on labels means
The percentage next to each ingredient tells you what portion of your daily recommended intake that single serving of gummies provides. 100% NRV = a full day’s worth of that nutrient.
Why some exceed 100%
Some formulas exceed the NRV because NRVs represent the minimum, not the optimal. Higher doses are often more effective โ always follow the on-pack instructions for safe use.
What the โ symbol means
When you see a dagger (โ ) instead of a percentage, that ingredient doesn’t yet have an official EU NRV. These are still carefully selected by our nutrition experts based on the latest scientific research at the most effective dose for your well-being.
The Wellness Suites
Browse by health goal to understand the key nutrients and find the gummies that deliver them best.
Essential for reducing tiredness and fatigue, B12 supports your nervous system and red blood cell production. The UK population โ especially vegans โ are commonly deficient.
Supports energy metabolism, hormonal balance, and the production of serotonin and dopamine โ your feel-good chemicals. Also key for a healthy immune system.
Crucial for carrying oxygen around the body. Iron deficiency is one of the most common causes of persistent fatigue, especially in women. Our curated iron gummies are formulated to be gentle on the stomach.
Converts food into fuel. Pantothenic acid plays a central role in metabolising proteins, carbohydrates, and fats for sustained all-day energy.
Plays a vital role in converting nutrients into energy at a cellular level. Also supports healthy skin and nervous system function, and is involved in DNA repair.
Helps the body convert carbohydrates into energy and supports healthy heart and nerve function. Essential for anyone with an active lifestyle.
A powerhouse antioxidant that supports immune defence, protects cells from oxidative stress, and aids collagen synthesis. The original NRV was set only to prevent scurvy โ most people benefit from more.
Vital for UK winters โ most of us are deficient October to March. D3 supports immune defence, bone strength, and muscle function. The most bioavailable form available.
Essential for immune cell function, wound healing, and DNA synthesis. Also helps maintain healthy skin, hair, and nails, and supports normal testosterone levels.
Works with Vitamin E to protect cells from damage. Also crucial for thyroid hormone metabolism and a healthy immune response.
Supports the integrity of skin and mucous membranes โ the body’s first line of defence. Also vital for normal vision and a properly functioning immune system.
Essential for producing thyroid hormones which regulate metabolism, energy levels, and immune function. Commonly under-consumed in plant-based diets.
A plant-based soluble fibre that nourishes beneficial gut bacteria. Prebiotic fibre is the foundation of a healthy microbiome โ without it, probiotics are far less effective.
Live bacteria supporting gut, immune, and intimate health. Look for CFU counts of 1 billion or more. Key strains include Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium for best results.
Beyond bone health, calcium plays a role in digestive enzyme function and gut muscle contraction. A deficiency can slow the entire digestive process.
Supports smooth muscle relaxation in the gut wall, helping to regulate bowel movements and ease cramping. Also plays over 300 biochemical roles throughout the body.
The most well-known beauty nutrient โ biotin supports keratin infrastructure, the protein that makes up hair, skin, and nails. A go-to for reducing brittle nails and hair shedding.
The most abundant protein in the body, providing structure to skin, hair, joints, and connective tissue. Production declines from your mid-20s โ supplementation supports elasticity and hydration.
A fat-soluble antioxidant that protects skin cells from UV-induced oxidative damage. Works best alongside Vitamin C for comprehensive skin protection.
Essential fatty acids that maintain the skin’s lipid barrier, locking in moisture and keeping skin supple. Also support hair shine and scalp health. Look for our vegan algae-based options.
Nature’s relaxant. Magnesium regulates the nervous system and is widely studied for supporting sleep quality and reducing stress and anxiety. Deficiency is extremely common in the UK.
Found naturally in green tea, L-Theanine promotes alpha brain waves โ a state of relaxed alertness. Excellent for those feeling anxious or over-stimulated. Often paired with caffeine for calm focus.
A functional mushroom with a long history of use for cognitive support. Emerging research suggests it may support memory, focus, and mood through its unique bioactive compounds.
Needed to activate other B vitamins and plays a key role in energy production and nervous system support. Helps the body process and recover from the physiological effects of stress.
The most abundant mineral in the body and the primary building block of bones and teeth. Essential from childhood development through to maintaining bone density in later life.
Often overlooked โ K2 directs calcium into your bones and teeth rather than your arteries. Best paired with Vitamin D3 and Calcium for maximum bone benefit.
One of the most researched supplements in existence. Creatine replenishes ATP during high-intensity exercise, increasing strength, power output, and muscle recovery.
Essential for muscle contraction and relaxation. Low magnesium is linked to cramps, weakness, and poor post-exercise recovery. A must for anyone who trains regularly.
